We love our role as a centre for the local community and we take it very seriously. Did you know we offer a variety of socially responsible activities to benefit people of all ages?
These include socially-focused events such as mall walking, which provide opportunities for our visitors to meet, make friends and stay active.
Mall Walking
Want to exercise in a safe, warm and dry environment, make new friends and have fun at the same time? Walk this way! Our Mall Walking takes place 9-10am weekdays, when the centre is closed to shoppers. Benefits include improved health, the opportunity to walk whatever the weather, meeting like-minded people, discount vouchers and two coffee mornings a year with raffles and free refreshments, so step to it – call at our Guest Services desk in the middle of the centre.
Community Collection Bank
We've launched a Community Collection Bank for guests to donate food and hygiene products to those in need.
What can I donate?
We are accepting both non-perishable food and hygiene supplies, which will go to Leeds South & East Foodbank. Currently, the organisation is particularly in need of:
- Juice
- Tinned potatoes
- Coffee
- Tinned / packet custard
- Cooking sauces
White Rose has been supporting Leeds South & East Foodbank since 2020, and in that time has donated more than £14,000. It has also provided laptops to the organisation, helping it create a digital hub to support users suffering from tech poverty, such as young people out of education and those experiencing barriers like homelessness and unemployment.

Leeds South and East Foodbank
White Rose Shopping Centre is proud to support our charity partners, Leeds South and East Foodbank, in their essential work.
The Foodbank has been supporting South and East Leeds since 2013, and now has 11 distribution centres. In just one year from April 2019 to March 2020, more than 14,000 people used the Foodbank’s services.
Re-think Food
We are also proud supporters of charity partner Re-think Food. In total, we have donated over £10,000 in funds to the foodbank to support their fantastic services.
